I recently was working on a website for a client, and needed to make sure that the site works in Internet Explorer 6. Yes, that’s right there are still people out there using version 6. Cross-browser compatibility is a big issue that really wasn’t addressed in IE6. Instead, Microsoft released IE7 and tried to force the Windows XP users to upgrade. Most people did without knowing via Windows Update. Under normal circumstances I would have just uninstalled IE7, and ran IE6, but with Windows SP3 it has disallowed uninstalling IE7. It was very simple to do the following.
Anyway, I came across a IE6 standalone package that runs even when IE7 is installed. It lets you have both IE6 and IE7 open simultaneously. This has been very handy in my line of work. You can download the IE6 Standalone file from here:
