I recently came across this plugin for Firefox that lets you have the facebook status feed on the left of your web browser, as well as a toolbar in the top of the browser. It is great for keeping an eye on your Facebook notifications without being distracted by being on the entire website. Here is an example of my Firefox window with the Facebook sidebar that shows the status of my friends.
The Facebook Toolbar for Firefox is a free extension for Firefox that lets you extend your Facebook experience into your everyday browsing.
Note: Firefox pop-up blocker might prevent the download box from opening. To fix this, follow the directions below:
- Look at the message at the top of your browser that says “Firefox has prevented this site from asking to install software…” At the far right corner there is an “Options” button.
- Click on the “Options” button to see the “Allow Sites” pop-up.
- Click “Allow” on the site developers.facebook.com and close the popup.
- Click the download button again to install the toolbar.
